About the Provider

The purpose of our program is to provide a nursery school that will benefit the child, the parent, and the community.

The program is designed for preschoolers 2 1/2 - 5 years of age. Our main goal is to give each child a smooth transition into the school experience. We enable children to approach their primary school education with an excitement for learning.

Our plan is to achieve the following goals:

First, to provide opportunities for being with other children in a setting conducive to the development of wholesome social relationships.

Second, to provide appropriate play experiences that contribute to the developmental needs of the child.

Third, to provide opportunities for meaningful play that is based on the child's individual needs, interests, and abilities, and that will build important foundations for future reading skills and other academic pursuits.

These goals are achieved in many ways and through varied activities geared to the age and needs of our children.

Our educational goals are also achieved in various ways. Children gain skill in color, shape, size, number and letter recognition. They learn classification and association skills. Lessons are presented in a casual manner and always contain an element of fun. Learning should, above all, be a pleasurable experience. The best lesson our children can take away with them is that school is an enjoyable place to be and teachers are their friends.

Our daily schedule allows our children to develop in many different areas. Each part of the day is geared toward a specific learning skill. Listening skills are improved and language skills are developed. Vocabulary is expanded. Children learn by using their five senses. We do a lot of work with manipulative materials. Paints, beads, and puzzles are as important to learning as paper and pencil.

We discuss good health habits, nutrition, food groups, and proper eating habits.

Stories, song, dance, and poetry are all part of our learning process. Professional music teachers alternate weekly to give your child an interactive learning experience. Guitar, accordion, and marching band are all part of the learning process.

Routines are followed daily to give the children a comfortable feeling. Children can be at ease when they know what to expect and what is expected from them. Consistency is paramount in child development.

Taken as a whole, our daily routine provides a good educational basis for our children. It makes school an enjoyable experience and prepares them for kindergarten.
