| Findings: Provider has an in ground pool in the backyard. The backyard is off limits to the children. There is a 4-5 foot fence that surrounds the backyard on three sides, with the house being the fourth barrier. Provider stated the pool has not been opened in 2 years, as there is a leak somewhere and the water has drained out of the pool. Provider stated there is no water in the pool, which was covered by a pool cover at the time of inspection. Provider stated there was an alarm in the pool when it was open. There are sensors/alarms on the two interior doors leading to the backyard. Doors were opened during inspection and alarms were turned on and operating properly. The outside fence gate is not self closing and self latching and does not have a lock on it (however, the gate was closed and latched at the time of inspection). This regulation requires a gate to be self closing and self latching, with a lock on it that is operable and secured. Please make the gate self closing and self latching (possibly by adding a spring to the gate) and add a lock to the latch which should be secured during all child care hours.
