Jcc Rainbow Day Camp

Stand outside a local school on the last day of the school year. Be ready to clear the way for the throngs of happy children racing out the doors. Those children know that summer is the happiest time of the year and for many of them, the Albert & Ann Deshur JCC Rainbow Day Camp is the reason why!

Children as young as age 5 can enjoy a terrific summer day camp experience at the JCC’s sprawling facility in Fredonia, WI. The fun begins the very first morning when campers arrive at one of 9 convenient bus stops. Enthusiastic counselors are waiting to greet each and every child and get them geared up for a full day of new experiences and exciting activities including swimming lessons, group time, songs, games, everything a child and parent could ask for in a summer day camp experience. It’s a healthy balance of structured and free playtime along with plenty of peer interaction. A great group of caring, involved and engaged counselors (all over the age of 18 and with previous experience in working with children) provides constant supervision. Legendary camp guru Lenny Kass is at the helm, coordinating all the activities and leading his professional, highly trained and experienced staff.

As your child grows, so does his or her Rainbow Day Camp experience. In 2nd-5th grade, campers can select “Chugim” or clubs from a wide range of choices: gymnastics, archery, ceramics, chess, drama, dance, computers, basketball, climbing wall, candle making, woodworking, the list goes on and on. A highlight of the Rainbow Day Camp summer is spending an overnight at camp two times during each session. There’s even an opportunity for Rainbow Campers to take a trip to visit Camp Interlaken for 3 nights, sleep in a cabin and get a true taste of the JCC’s popular overnight Jewish camp.

Got a camper who wants to focus on a particular activity like fishing, skateboarding, bugs and swamps, trains, musical theater, sewing, tennis, movie making, etc? We have a camp for that!

Finding it a difficult to occupy your middle schooler or teen? Rainbow has special programs for 6th-11th graders that offer fun camp experiences, leadership training and the right mix of independence and structure as your child makes a smooth transition from camper to Counselor-In-Training (CIT).
