Holly's Petite Maison Home Daycare - Winter Park FL Family Day Care Home

My child has never been watched by Holly, but I did inquire about childcare. Her website looks amazing and her videos and photos are great.
I messaged her via FB after finding a post she put up in a local mom group. It took 2 days for an actual response. I messaged via FB and on her great site. I called and then I finally texted and got a response, which I get she is probably busy with the kids and I wouldn't need her services until the end of the year. She seemed nice enough. Then I simply asked if outside food would be allowed. I cook homecooked healthy meals for my son. He eats lots of veggies and fruits on his own. Instead of a simple no, I got a very automated and offputting response of:
"If they have allergies or a special diet, then there needs to be paperwork on file for that as well as a note from the pediatrician. Otherwise children have prepared daycare meals."
I addressed a concern of putting a child on probation for crying. Her response was satisfying in the sense of making it a good environment for all the kids. Fair enough, but then she went on to tell me that kids don't have outbursts in her care. I audibly laughed because even the best behaved 2 or 3 year old are going to have an emotional outburst here and there. My kid is pretty good and is great with his current sitter so I didn't stress that part. Delusional as it may be on her part, whatever if she takes good care of the kids who am I to judge her delusional.

The response that threw me over the edge was when I asked about substitute teachers. I asked her if they were male or female. Her response nearly 24 hours later was, "I fail to see how that is relevant"
Honestly, I prefer to have female caregivers for my son. It is personal preference, so if I ask it is relevant and as someone who is planning to pay $185 a week for care a simple question should be answered.
Based on how she responds to negatives reviews, I will probably get a snotty response which is very unprofessional as well. She is rude and honestly, I would not like working with her and I don't think my son would do well in her care. Be wary, if a sitter won't answer questions straight forward they have something to hide.

This is a long post and there's SO many more incidents I could write about but please read if you're considering sending your kids here. It was the Absolute worst experience, DO NOT trust her with your child. She seems to like babies because she can just set them wherever and have complete control over them, but can't handle toddlers. My daughter started daycare here and at first Holly seemed great. All that quickly changed. My daughter would HYSTERICALLY cry at drop off. Even at pick up should would cry and try to get out of the gate as quick as she could to get to me. Holly's kids used to say "she cried all nap time" or "she wouldn't stop crying today" which is very unlike her. Holly told me my daughter started having trouble falling asleep. I was trying to figure out why and kept blaming myself. It turns out she was sticking her in a pack and play (which she doesn't even fit in) and walking away. She was supposed to be on a nap mat like Holly told me she would be to begin with, which my daughter never had an issue with at any other facility. Anyone who has cared for my daughter always said how great she behaved and went to sleep so well. She had an accident one day and Holly was livid. She made me buy a new pack and play for her & told me if it happened again she would terminate care. She gave my daughter a bath, and after that my daughter was petrified of bath time, which used to be her favorite) and would shake and cry and wouldn't sit down. She would say "sorry holly, Kenna a bad girl". ???? then every time she would poop after she had the accident there she would start crying and say "sorry holly, no poopy!", "Holly's not nice", "holly push Kenna" and things like that. There's so many other things that happened too and reasons I don't trust her. And she's not upfront about things during the tour. I asked her who substitutes for her if she's sick and she said she has only had a substitute twice in the last two years but she has many teachers to fill in that are DCF trained. She didn't mention one of them was her husband, so if you're not comfortable with hat, just a heads up. She also had him substitute twice in the first two weeks of care....she also takes the kids to pick up and drop off her son at school daily which she also doesn't me ruin until you sign up. She's crazy, if you could hear the way she reacted to my daughter having an accident you would NEVER trust her. A care provider should be understanding that a two year old is going to have accidents. As a previous nanny myself, I would never react that way or treat a kid that way. There's no doubt she was extremely rough with my daughter and wasn't treating her right. My daughter's whole personality changed as well at home because of this. Now she is doing better and is at an AMAZING daycare. My daughter runs inside every day and is so happy and I have to make her leave at the end of the day, she always wants to stay. PLEASE do no trust this lady with your kids. She makes it look like a great place but she is crazy and irresponsible.
