Nothing made me more than excited for my son to finally get into a daycare cause it was so hard to find one that will take him in. My son started on August 18, and by September 5th I was informed of his behavior. September 8th I was asked to come in for a discussion and by September 10th without discussing how his behavior could be fixed they told me and my husband that they would be terminating care for our child. Mind you, I only found out about the misbehaving a week before, and might I add it was a FRIDAY! Now you tell me how can we fix a behavior problem over the weekend?!! If it was that bad I should’ve received a phone call or something I only got updated if he wet himself during nap time or if he played and got extra dirty but never anything about this behavior! Which is very important to know!! I do not like how my son got treated, and just felt we had no time to try and resolve it they had their mind made up already. this is your job, until me or dad get there you should be able to curve or try to resolve the behavior, that’s what we pay you for. They just don’t know what all they are taking from my baby, he started speaking more, he was doing sign language, etc. and they took all of that away.. my son is a two year old who never been exposed to kids other than his siblings until the daycare. then on top of that the director tried to say my son was showing signs of being on the spectrum when I explained in the interview process myself the ENTIRE reason I needed him in a daycare and was excited they took him in the program is because among his siblings one of them is autistic and this is who he is around and who he tries to play with the most so yes some of the stims he does he will copy. But there is nothing wrong with him. It wasn’t right to just terminate without giving us a chance to fix it. For each day he “misbehaved“ I was never given a child’s name… nothing. Last Friday they told me he done something to a child so when I asked “ why nobody called me?” The response I got was “ his teacher left early” but you as the director of the program was there and you didn’t think to call me?! That was the last straw for me even though they was terminating the care I message them in that portal the same day and told them my son would not be returning. She also tried to say my son was on the spectrum, I know he isn’t. Although she claimed she’s no doctor she still proceeded to say that adding insult to injury on the fact they already blind sided us by making the decision to terminate care.
