Description: he YWCA of Greater Lawrence was founded in 1892 to provide safe housing, job training and support to women moving from rural communities and overseas to work in area mills and shops. Today, we serve more than 15,000 women, children and families from throughout the Merrimack Valley and Essex County every year. We are an affiliate of the YWCA USA, the nation’s oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization working for social and economic change.
