I am writing this review after our son was expelled. We also not only had our son but his younger brother and our entire family was asked to leave. Being a Christian based program, I would have expected more open and honest communication. I received mixed stories from the pastor and director. The director claimed that she was working with us while we were seeking all possible resources for a behavioral/social issue. I would not recommend this school for any child that is a little bit different and my have some behavioral/developmental delays. As a parent it was quite frustrating to be told one thing and then be asked to leave the very next day.
I called the facility in hopes of enrolling my child. The phone rang endlessly without any voicemail option, which I thought was odd. What if I had been a parent calling of one of the children? ...
I called the church itself and was transferred, which at that time, a very unfriendly woman answered. She said she was the director, and I explained that I was looking for short-term care (during the summer) for my daughter who would be starting Kindergarten in the fall. She explained that they had the space to accomodate my child, but then couldn't get me off the phone fast enough, instructing me to email her with my needs, which I did immediately.
This morning, I received an email back from the director stating,"I was thinking that you needed care for a 12 week period, yet you only need 6 weeks. I don't think we are a good match. We take our job very seriously, and I do not think that we could truly benefit your child in that short period of time."
I find this not only unprofessional, but insulting, as if she was insinuating that their center is "too good" to only care for my child for 7 weeks (not 6) I'm not sure why that would matter as the center is only a daycare and not an Ivy league college in which my daughter would need years of care there. My request was treated as a joke, therefore I would not recommend this facility due to the unprofessionalism of the director. You're better suited somewhere that actually wants your child.
If you are in a rush to get your child in day care before college or if you are expecting a call back, then do not bother. The facility may be okay, but we never found out. We were told we were on the waiting list, and then no one ever would return our calls. Nearly eight months later we received a phone call checking if we were still interested.
Again, it may be a great daycare, but the process beforehand is annoying and will deter you. We have found a daycare we really like and is responsive to our child.
