The only reason this center is receiving a second star is because the women in the infant and 1-2 year old rooms are incredible. They are caring and nurturing and everything you'd want and hope for in center based care. Now that my child is older and in the "Red Hallway" for those of you familiar with the center, it's a nightmare. There is not a single child or woman that is good enough to look after your 2.5 - 4 year old. I say child because a 19 year old girl is in charge of a room and while you are adult by legal standards, she isn't an adult by any other definition. Anyways, the headmaster, Barb, she's a piece of work. This happened to myself as well as other parents; our children were asked to leave the center for various reasons because "we cannot accommodate their needs" or "they would benefit from being in a smaller class environment." Leave Genesis Children's Center for Genesis Employees - don't bother taking your child there if you're not employed by the hospital system. They receive preferential treatment and lower rates and probably JFS money. Meanwhile I have paid full price for nearly four years and that is what it is. Very few of those women are individuals you would want and trust your child to be around. Ask your friends and family - they too won't have a good thing to say about the headmaster, as I refer to her or the way she runs things. The only reason she's in there is because she's good with the financials. She is by NO MEANS a people person and she's as fake as one can be. Go meet her. Let your gut be your guide. There are plenty of other facilities.
