Findings: A complaint was received that on Thursday, June 17, 2021, a child sustained injuries while at the day care center, that appeared to be bite marks. The parent notified the center that evening and they met with the parent, aunt and uncle on Friday. The parent alleges that the child was taken to an urgent care center and was treated. The parent did not supply the center with any documentation. The center is advised that even though they deny that the injury/marks were sustained at the center they should have contacted the specialist or the intake specialist on duty. The specialist should be notified whenever a child is treated by a medical profession or admitted to a hospital if it is thought, alleged or known to have occurred at the center. When in question it is better to error on the side of caution and contact the licensing specialist.
