About the Provider
After School Care (ASC) is available for all enrolled children through grade 5, between the hours of 12:30 and 5:30 pm. After School Care is designed to be a home-like atmosphere offering the comfort of rhythm in the afternoon schedule, without the demands of structured activities. This allows for the children to have the kind of "outbreathing" that they need after a day of more focused activities at school. Space is provided for creative play both indoors and outside, and craft materials are available for activities such as finger knitting or coloring. Occasionally, the ASC teacher will lead a craft activity or a game. Donations of yarn and other material for the ASC program are always welcomed.
From 12:30 until 2:45 pm, After School Care is divided into two groups according to age. Early childhood ASC is held in the early childhood building by an early childhood teacher. At 2:45, the younger children join the older students in the grades ASC room, located across from the reception office. All children must be supervised after school; any child grade 4 and younger will be brought to ASC if not picked up within 15 minutes of school dismissal.
Early childhood ASC is contracted on a term basis; click the link below to print a copy of the contract. Grades ASC is scheduled monthly, as well as care for children 6 and under from 2:45 - 5:30 pm ASC may also be scheduled on a daily basis if space is available. For information about the monthly care option, click the "Information and Agreement" link below.
ASC is mostly used by working parents as a safe and convenient option for child care during working hours. The ASC program is available for currently-enrolled students only. After School Care may be free to parents at the time they are engaged in volunteer work at the school, such as attending an official meeting, preparing for a school festival, etc. If you are in doubt about whether your activity qualifies you for this, ask at the reception office. Children using ASC in this capacity should still be prescheduled in order to assure that the appropriate amount of adult supervision is arranged.
