Edison was among the top two highest rated schools in the Excellent Schools Detroit “5 Essentials” – most likely to aid learning and boost attendance and ACT scores.
We have implemented the Success For All (SFA) reading program as a school-wide reading initiative designed to ensure success for all students in reading. The program is researched-based and emphasizes a balance between phonics and meaning in beginning reading, and uses cooperative learning extensively throughout all grade levels. We also expose our students to computer-based programs such as Accelerated Reading and Math to enhance their skill development. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive white boards to promote student engagement and intensify our students’ learning experiences.
The Edison school staff works collaboratively to provide a warm and welcoming environment for our students, their families and the community. Edison School is located at a very convenient and easily accessible Grand River Ave. location and nestled on a park setting in the vibrant Grandmont/Rosedale communities.
