Description: Fit Fun & Literacy is an after-school program in nine Denver Public Schools (DPS) that incorporates physical fitness and nutrition with reading and math. The program specifically targets our highest-need elementary schools in which at least 80% of students are eligible for the free or reduced meal program. The program provides students with an opportunity to receive additional academic help, engage in physical activities, increase their literacy and math skills, build positive relationships, and learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits. Most importantly, it provides a safe, supportive environment during the afterschool hours.
