We toured this daycare for our baby after we moved nearby. The whole place stank of harsh chemicals—way worse than any lab I’ve ever worked in. The director, who was the only caregiver there, had on heavy makeup, super long nails, and perfume so strong it made me nauseous the second she got close. All three are big no-nos with babies because of hygiene and sensitivity issues.
Two infants got completely ignored the whole time she showed us around. The TV was on at full volume. I’m usually fine with smells, but the combo of perfume, cleaners, and disinfectants was so bad I just wanted out.
Now that we’ve been in the neighborhood a while, I’m so glad we listened to our gut and skipped it—even though it was the closest and cheapest. They throw insanely loud parties that go very late at night, with dozens of people getting drunk and high, music rattling windows blocks away. They don’t care at all about neighbors, police, or anyone else—just straight-up rude and reckless. Definitely not the kind of people you’d want to leave your kid with.
