Cottom Day Care

Had a conversation with owner who stated the my child was displaying behavior that I nor anyone else who has interacted with my son ever seen before and she didn’t want to discuss. I asked to see the video of my child while he’s in the facility and she told me that I could not see the footage. I stated to the owner that if she’s recording mine or any other child in her facility then parents have access to that footage for protection purposes. The last daycare my son was at before he started going to regular school, made sure that all the parents had access to the video footage when requested. The owner made it seem as if I was doing something wrong for asking to see the video footage. Then she stated that it was against the law to show me the footage of my child, but how is it against the law for me to ask to see video of what’s going on with my son in the facility but not against the law for the facility to video tape my child and any other child in the facility. Owner was very defensive and on guard when i asked to see the footage as if she was hiding something. I have all our messages and not on time did i call this young woman’s liar, nor did i dispute what she said to me. I just asked to see for myself because the behavior she spoke of has never been displayed before so i wanted to see if their was an interaction before the behavior was displayed, if the behavior she stated was actually displayed or was it something going on. As soon as I asked to see footage the owner became very defensive, very sarcastic, and seemed very on edge when i asked to see what was going on. The center seemed like a cool place for kids to go but this unprofessional interaction makes me say otherwise. I just hope nothing was done to my son in their care and I hope that’s not what being hidden by me not being able to see the footage.
