She takes care of a lot of babies so not sure how she manages older kids preschool age curriculum…she’s cheaper than most child care centers so you will get what you pay for. If you have the money go somewhere else. This child care center is in a basement. She has dogs upstairs she has to let out and babies she cares for so I just don’t know how school aged kids are getting the education and attention they deserve. I asked my child what they learned and they said “Nothing” every day for a year. Also she closes every day that public school closes when you need child care the most. She also does not stay open until 6 like advertised. She closes at 3:30-4. She basically does everything herself. She doesn’t hire any help. She has a friend also named Nancy (if I remember correctly?) who runs a child care center in the area she can call for help (sort of?) Not sure how when they are also running a daycare. Both Nancys are probably in their 60s by now. Hopefully things have changed.
I just saw the review from Jane, there for I am just responding. First let me say this is a false name. I Do have a preschool curriculum (September thru May)which is required . I Do communicate with my parents every afternoon when children are picked up. I am sorry that your husband picks up and didn't communicate with you on how your children's day went, I can assure you it was discussed. As far as me having teenage children here for the summertime is incorrect the teenagers you are referring to where 10 and 12 years old. They have been in my care since they where 12 weeks old. One other was my granddaughter who is allowed to come see here grandparents during the day. The last thing I want to address is how many infants I am allowed to have in my care. I am allowed to have tow infants under two years old at a time. Yes, the day you are referring to I had three infants, but not at the same time. One left at 3PM. So that opened a spot from 3PM to 4;30PM when I close. I was asked to do a favor for a parent to watch their 22 month old child so they could take their 5year old to get their first covid shot. Remember the other infant was gone at 3PM . I only had one infant and it opened a infant spot. Sorry for showing compassion helping a parent out so she could console her other child while getting a shot. But please "Jane" I hope you let everyone know because of that you called and reported me to my licensed specialist in stead of discussing it with me first.. That is why I terminated your contract immediately. Yes I was very up set to have to make that decision because of the love and bond I formed with your daughter. As you know this is not the first time in the 3 years I have had your child we have had issues with communication. Maybe if you had more communication and compassion instead of always complaining and picking at everything, we could have had a better parent provider relationship. I hope you have found the perfect provider and she meets all our needs because apparently I didn't. Very sad you would say such horrible things about someone that took such great care of your child just to make yourself feel better. Hopefully you have learned to communicate with your provider so she won't have to deal with such immaturity. Good bless you both.
This is in responds to Jan's comment. I have known Nancy for over 15 years, First she does not advertise for 12 children she is only allowed to have 8 at a time. Nancy does do a curriculum from September thru May with the children. This is required by the Lic childcare.
She does tell the parents about the children's day ( I have been there to hear it). Nancy does have a daily schedule for the children. I would use her if I needed daycare, and would highly recommend her to any one.
also if you are going to post something then use your real name, she has never done daycare for a parent with the name Jane.
Steer clear. Shady. Does what she wants on the pretense she’s been doing it for years. The TV is always on. Has multiple kids under 2. Advertises up to 12 but has teenagers come in on occasion in the summer. Not willing to stick to schedules for your kids. Not willing to be asked about day to day. If my kid didn’t love her so much I would have reported her. If you want honesty and curriculum do not contact.
