About the Provider

Description: We at Circle "C" Ranch Academy are delighted to have the opportunity to teach and love young children. Our goals are to provide each child with a quality education, to nurture each child's individual gifts and abilities, to teach them social skills and responsibilities, and to instill in each a sense of love, dignity, and understanding. We provide stimulating ideas and opportunities to develop the thinking process and to make learning interesting and fun. We try to stay informed of new and better ways to communicate what young children need to know before entering school, and to present new information in ways that will relate to each child's individual abilities and interests. We strive to nurture each child's emotional and physical well-being and to make sure that they know that the teachers here love them and care for them. We believe in lots of hugs and positive reinforcement. We also try to instill in them the desire to care about each other, to share, to be kind, and to respect each other's ideas and feelings. We love them, and attempt to teach them by example and conversation how to love and respect each other.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

My kid got bullied here!!!
She didn’t last two hours without getting majorly and violently bullied! Please read:
We had heard good things about the camp, so decided to give it a go. Our daughter is from out of town (she lives with bio mom out of state usually) and we were trying to help her have a fun summer and make local friends here in Tampa. We looked through dozens of camp sites and decided on Circle C Ranch. We signed her up and dropped her off on her first day around 0800. First, we clarified with the front desk counselor that she’s high-functioning autistic, so she might need a break sometimes if she gets overstimulated. Counselor is nice about it and tells our daughter what to do if it happens. We take her back to the Ranch where the other Junior Counselors are. She’s 12, so this is her age group. My husband and I feel weird leaving her there, because there’s tons of horses and other animals and no seemingly adult supervision. We let her chat with the other girls who seemed nice and go back to the front desk. We let the counselor know that there doesn’t seem to be adult supervision and she says “Oh, Emily is there- she’s a counselor. She’s 16.” I noticed Emily when we dropped our daughter off, but seemed like another JC to us. My husband and I look at each other and say “ok I guess,” incredibly apprehensively.
An hour later we get a call from our daughter asking to be picked up. Two JC boys teased her… called her gay and lesbian… and one of them THREW her brand-new riding helmet and broke it. What if it had hit her?! What if his physical anger had been directly to her?!?! WHERE was “Emily”???? THIS is why we were concerned with adult supervision. An actual adult would have noticed what was going on, stopped it, and rectified the situation with the boys. It escalated quickly and violently. How do you let another kid grab someone’s belongings and throw it?!
We are absolutely appalled and heartbroken, because our daughter had been so excited about camp, to learn about the horses and go swimming. Are they understaffed? Not sure what it is, but the lack of adult supervision is a major concern. Less than two hours and there was a major bullying incident. This is NOT OKAY and not what I expect when I sign up for childcare at a child development center.
