Carelot Children's Center- Killingly

I did foster care and DCF uses Carelot in Danielson and Brooklyn. They always have openings and the kids get in right away, because I would never let them care for pet snake. They had 1 incredible worker there a couple of years ago but when she left we left. The people there are not trained and they do not stock proper cleaning/personal products. They let children be soiled, the children were never happy to go. They were terrible, I found a home day care and wished I went there sooner!
My family had an uncomfortable experience at Carelot Children's Center in Killingly. After attending the center for 6-7 months my child would still cry or sulk every time he was left at this facility. He did not seem comfortable with any of the Center's employees, was generally uneasy during observation, and often picked up with a soiled diaper. The facility gave my wife and I a very hard time when trying to schedule a surgery for our son months in advance. They persisted that even if it was planned months in advance, we would still be charged for the days he should be there. One call to the district office seemed to have set the record straight. However, then they began sending him home for multiple, yet undetectable, reasons. We withdrew him from this center, started him in a new one, and within one week at the new center, he appeared comfortable with his new caretakers. He would hug them upon arrival, and blow kisses and wave goodbye. He was himself. This sort of behavior was never observed at Carelot and was the root of my concern with his attendance there. I hope that it was just a compatibility issue, but seeing how quickly he became comfortable at the new center after not achieving that level of comfort in many months at Carelot was disturbing. I just wish we had pulled him out of there sooner, not only is he much happier, even energetic, to go to daycare; but on top of the dramatic change in atmosphere and environment, the new place is actually slightly cheaper.
