Description: Canyon Creek Academy is a Day Care Center in Littleton CO, with a maximum capacity of 79 children. This child care center helps with children in the age range of 2yr:6mo:-13yr:0mo. The provider does not participate in a subsidized child care program.
The only reason why I didn't give this center a 5 is because I was unable to watch the staff interact with the children. I have an interesting perspective because I took a four hour class with the entire staff including Kathy. Kathy was hospitable and kind. Her staff were fun loving and obviously were in the right line of work. On breaks they would talk lovingly about their students and share craft ideas. Kathy and I chatted about running a daycare as I have my own for the last 10 years. I will say that running a daycare won't make you rich, and it's a difficult business and she's been doing it successfully for 30 years. People don't read the policies and then want to push hours and push payment, and when clients do that to my I've had to get firm. She knows her stuff and I could learn some things from her. After spending 4 hours as a fly on the wall with these people I would absolutely leave my daughter with them and I don't leave my daughter anywhere.
My kids have attended this center after school and the summer program. Kathy and staff have been nothing but nice and helpful to my family. I've never had any issues with my kids being sick and/or older kids pushing around smaller kids. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt and ask questions before you send your kids anywhere.
Has gone downhill recently. Kathy the director is vindictive and does not address problems. The cost is nice but you get what you pay for. As soon as I can find another school I'm pulling my child out.
Both our 6yr. old and 3yr. old attend Canyon Creek. Our 6yr. old is only there before and after school and out 3yr. old is there all day. We have nothing but a great experience with the facility. Our kids are always happy, the teachers report to us when there are concerns, and it is always tiddy. Canyon Creek was a blessing to find and we are very happy.
My experience with Canyon Creek Academy has been absolutley amazing! Every time i go to pick up my child she is having the best time. The staff are so loving and I've never had an issue with Kathy or any other of her staff. Its great having a close knit family type feel and knowing that I can leave my child with a provider who cares and can educate my daughter. My daughter (who is 4) knows her ABC's, how to write her first and last name, her colors in english spanish and asl. As well as many of her "high frequency words" she will need to know by kindergarten.
I have to agree with the comment above, I had very poor experience with this place as well! I was overcharged! Was lied to and I have to agree, Kathy is rude and disrespectful! It's affordable But that's the only good thing I can say about this place!
Wasn't bad at the beginning when we joined it and of course cheap. But Cheap doesn't mean good. After a month my kid will always get sick, and I personally noticed few times that the teachers would come to work even they were sick. But more then that we found out they overcharged us, hopefully they refund us back.
Another not good thing that the kids of all ages (from 2 to 12) play together after school hours, and the biger kids and teenagers push the little ones.
BUt the most terrible thing was the that the owner - Kathy told me that my kid had a very poor immune system and it was pretty much my fault that she was sick.
I am so happy that I found out those things early enough and we took our kid out. Now our kid attends another pre-school and she is happy and we are happy , and she never got sick after.
