Description: The UCP Butterfly Learning Center is committed to providing state of the art inclusive preschool services for children of all abilities. This inclusive concept provides numerous benefits to both populations. Children with disabilities benefit by having non-disabled peers as role models while children without disabilities learn to appreciate differences in people, not to fear them. Ages range from six weeks through five years. The center prides itself in carefully addressing the growing and future needs of all the children and families served.
UCP Butterfly Learning Center is proud to offer a professional and caring staff, individualized instruction and developmentally appropriate practices. The center has certified education specialists, special trained teachers, speech, occupational, and physical therapist who work together to coordinate and plan activities for all children who meet eligibility. BLC maintains low child to staff ratios of 1:4 for children ages six weeks to three years and 1:7 for three to five years.
Learning environments are warm and inviting, encouraging children to explore and experience the world. BLC has worked carefully to equip the classrooms with age appropriate materials and furnishings. BLC offers your child a nurturing environment which features a curriculum that focuses on thinking and reasoning, motor skills, social skills, self-help skills and language development. The use of children’s literature, muscular development through indoor and outdoor play, art activities, and music are major vehicles in helping children master new skills and gather information.
Responding carefully to the needs of children and their families in an always changing world requires flexibility and commitment. Butterfly Learning Center is dedicated to these values. Structured preschool classes are scheduled between 7:30a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Before and after care is available between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The preschool is open year-round, five days a week, except for scheduled holidays.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed.
