Building Blocks Learning Center

Building Blocks Learning Center is operated by the Cambria County Child Development Corporation which has been serving the children and families of Cambria County for over 40 years. Our quality programs are the result of years of experience caring for children.

The Building Block Learning Center program is a very unique program begun by the Cambria County Child Development Corporation in conjunction with the Teen Parenting Program of Cambria County. This program cares for children from birth through age 3 and gives the young student parents of Greater Johnstown High School the opportunity to bring their child with them to school. The student parents have the security of on-site child care and can fully participate in the high school experience. Building Blocks Learning Center is also open to the public. The program operates Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 5:00PM based on the needs of families. The Director holds an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and all staff members are required to take at least 18 hours of continuing education per year.

This program has earned the highly prestigious Star 3 designation from The Pennsylvania Keystone Stars Quality Rating Program.

Building Blocks Learning Center also participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and serves a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack to the children.

The staff of Building Blocks Learning Center continues the Cambria County Child Development standard of excellence by utilizing the Pennsylvania Standards for infants and toddlers to create lessons that help both the infant and toddler to develop their cognitive, social and creative skills. These children are nurtured, nourished, loved and helped by a staff that truly cares not only about the child but the welfare of the family.
