Owner has not paid rent for 4 months and is being legally pursued for foreclosure.
This place was recommended by a few friends and people we know for our 2 yr old daughter. The director gave us a tour around the facility stressing the fact that they focus on education and nutrition. Our daughter was there for 3 months before we pulled her out. My husband and I were very disappointed with the service provided. The teachers in her room were very lazy and did not seem like they paid attention to the kids. The education part is pretty much non existent. Every day when I went to pick up my daughter they were either passing out candy to all the kids or holding up a cell phone showing them videos. There have been several incidents with our daughter getting hurt with no reports to us and teachers not aware of what happened. It was even suggested by the director that the injuries may have happened at our house when that was not the case. Diaper changing practices were not being followed properly either. The overall security of the facility is also questionable as their side doors are not locked and monitored and anyone could walk in and potentially not even be seen by staff member. Overall, we were not happy with the care provided. I would not recommend this place to people I know.
Run! The owner is not receptive to parent concerns. Children come home dirty top and bottom. Formula is not handled properly. They feed your child whatever they want without consulting parents. They gave my child a moldy pacifier (we don't use pacifiers at home) without my consent. Left formula out for 2 hours then fed it to my infant. Proper my child's bottle for feeding, laid him in bouncy seat to feed himself a bottle which he couldn't do on his own. Fed my child pecans, he never had them and I am highly allergic to nuts. The owner takes it personal if you have a concern and pushes you out the door if you continue to voice concerns. Threatened to call the cops and kicked my kids out of the school because I asked her why she didn't take my complaints seriously. This is truly a health hazard for your child. Mold, spoiled milk, dirty bottoms and not to mention the owner recently got a DUI. No cool!
I'm not sure why there are 2 comments that are marked so poorly? I believe it might be a personal vandeta of some sort. My son has been going here for almost 2 years and this is BY FAR the best daycare in the Goldsboro zip code or near the area. I am active duty military and am absolutely estatic my son goes here. My wife is also a 2nd grade teacher at NW elementary and absolutely loves Brighton's curriculum. The only negative is the price; however, you get far better security than any other day care. They have security cameras and the door will not even open unless your finger print matches their database. I would rate it 6 stars if they had it! BEST DAYCARE! Very satisfied!!
Brighton Academy is by far the best childcare center I have seen! As a mother, I have peace of mind knowing that my children are in a happy and safe environment. The teachers are very loving and caring. From the moment you walk in the door you can see that the teachers have a passion for teaching young children. I have really enjoyed watching my children learn and grow at Brighton Academy. They have learned so much already. My children amaze me every day with something new they have learned from "school." The curriculum is outstanding and goes above and beyond what other centers have to offer, from what I have seen. Hands down this is one of the best parenting decisions I have made, not only for the care of my children but also for their early education!
It's by NO means the best. The directors are somewhat party animals. I guess u can say there are worst daycares. It's just sad this is what is available in our county.
This facility has very high turnover rate, untrained teachers ( most with only a high school education), rude staff ( Tim Lipold), left a child outside during the summer for 90 minutes which resulted in state consultants investigating, very poor sanitation procedures ( I have seen children being changed, one after another without the mat being sanitized or gloves changed). I made two reports to Raleigh about this. Not only did my child attend, but I worked there briefly. I had conflict with other teachers because I would try to explain about sanitation procedures. I was told by a teacher in the one year old room in these exact words, " don't let the child's bottom hit the mat so we don't have to clean it as much and take up so much time unless it is a stinky diaper". At that point, I had enough and gave a one week notice and now I work at a wonderful facility ( Small World) and I love it! Most of all my child loves it too!!
