About the Provider

My name is Birdie, I am the owner of Birdie Hugs Child Care. I started working in the Child Care industry in 2016, when my husband and I moved from California to Texas. I love to work with children, so I decided to apply at a daycare center within walking distance of our residence. I started off as a floater and continued to climb until, I became the lead teacher for the preschoolers. I learned at a rapid pace and the experience was exciting and unforgettable. My knowledge for child care increased during those 2 years and I'm very grateful to be in this industry.

In 2018, my husband & I decided to move to Oregon, where I held a lead position at a retail store but quickly decided to pursue my true passion of being a preschool teacher. From centers, to being an in home daycare provider, I've worked in Sherwood, Tualatin and Tigard. I finally decided to leave my provider job and pursue my goal of becoming a Registered Child Care Provider. Now, I'm a proud, successful business owner.

Birdie Hugs opened the nest in October 2022 and continues to grow. Hey, I'm a kid at heart, that's why I love what I do...I’m the child whisperer. (Trademark pending)

Bird's Philosophy:

I'm Bird, I believe in the right environment, a child’s natural curiosity, and creativity, lead to endless opportunities to grow their knowledge and develop a love for learning. We provide that environment at Birdie Hugs by making it a safe, and nurturing place where your child will be encouraged to build, splash, pretend and create their way to exciting discoveries.

Additional Information:

I use Brightwheel for pics, videos, meal updates potty updates, payments. I also teach Yoga, Zumbini (Certified Instructor) ASL, Spanish and cooking. Curriculum based around childs development and age
