I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Luisa’s Daycare initially seemed great. She seems very nice. But after starting my child there the I noticed she looked like she had been crying a long time very red face and she would really go crazy when I went to leave her and the second day running towards me when I showed up. My child had never had a problem being dropped off at daycare to 3 other daycare settings so that was my first red flag. So when I talked to Luisa about it she says that she doesn’t like to nap that nap time is 1-3 so I leave her because that’s my break time. The other kids know it’s time to sleep. She was leaving my child alone in the pack and play crying so loud that she moved the other babies to the next floor to nap and left her down there to cry her head off. She said she could still hear the screams from the second floor but my 15 month old had to get used to the schedule. I really tried to understand and ask well maybe have her cry to go to sleep but take her out when she is done after an hour and starts crying and she insisted she needed to know 1-3 is nap time and won’t pick her up earlier. Anyway so I lossed $950 for starting the daycare in the beginning of the month and had to find a new place. I would think that if you plan on leaving a child alone to cry for 2 of the 6 hours they are there you would talk to the parent to see if they were comfortable with the cry out method for 2 hours. That’s insane to just assume. Other daycare have nap time but would never let a child alone in a room to cry it out. They would rub their back or rock them until the baby became comfortable. A few times I came to pick up my child the kids were alone in the room and she was in another part of the house for several minutes. Just make sure your clear on this practice before you hire her. She is set in her ways and they are every old fashioned.
