About the Provider
Our preschool program is designed to provide children a wide variety of experiences. We provide individual and group experiences in creative art, music, dramatic play, outdoor play, science, language, literature, pre-math, pre-reading, as well as nutrition and cooking. Through observation and assessment of each child, teachers plan the environment, providing open-ended activities to meet the needs of all of the children. The children then develop at their own pace, which creates a positive and confident self-image.
We plan a challenging and secure environment with an emphasis on social learning. Children will actively explore developmentally sound "hands-on" activities through their own discovery, choice and initiative.
Children will interact and problem-solve at their own pace, with the people and materials in the environment. Teachers act as a facilitator in problem-solving, always keeping in mind the safety of the children. We model positive behavior, helping children understand and express their feelings and encourage them to create their own solutions, learning positive social skills such as: cooperation, respect, empathy, and the ability to negotiate solutions without being physically aggressive. All the while we are using re-direction methods for challenges and discipline problems.
Our goal is to value individual expression, to foster social responsibility and to nurture interpersonal relationships.
