About the Provider
Our curriculum is based on nine free choice stations that we call Exploration Stations that allow us to meet the needs of individual students in our afterschool program while still meeting the needs of the larger group. This concept gives children opportunities to make decisions and to evaluate the consequences of their choices, following the adage, “The best education is caught, not taught.”
It also allows them to use their time more effectively, rather than wasting time while waiting turns. In addition, it permits them to move about freely without interfering with other children’s activities. Perhaps most important, our Exploration Stations allow children to succeed in accomplishing tasks, mainly because they select the tasks they wish to accomplish.
