Description: Mother's Den has been licensed since April 1999. We are a licensed and insured early child care and educational facility offering preschool services for our youngest children in care Monday-Friday 9-11am. We are licensed 24/7 and choose to be closed on Sundays unless needed for emergencies. Mother's Den is a Strengthening Families program who supports families in times of need. We are Learn & Grow level 3 and successful completed TPOTS & TIPTOS Assessments through the Pyramid Model training. Our program participates in the CACFP (food program) ensuring every child is served healthy meals and snacks at no additional cost to families. As the Administrator, I am a Marine Corps/Desert Storm Veteran. I hold a Master in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor in Psychology, Completed Strengthen Families training and Strengthen Families Trainer through UAA, Certified Trainer for Teaching Through Love, CPR/FA/AED Certified since 1988, Baby Sign Certified Child Care Center & Trainer, and so much more. I have been recognized for my work with children and in the field of family child care with the Alaska Legislative Child Care Award (first ever given), I have received an Alaska Legislative Citation (first ever given in child care), Chosen as Provider of the Week on the PBS show "A Place of Our Own" as well as recognition with a Regional Leadership Award from the National Family Child Care Association. I have received many other recognitions and awards over the years showcasing my work and love of working with children.
