Terrible owner. Daycare is now permanently closed. The owner is a poor decision maker. Lost the Country Kids Daycare because her boyfriend sold her daycare behind her back. He also sold her newest daycare, Learn and Grow, in Lewiston. Luckily for her, the new owner of the building is allowing her to stay for now. Back to Country Kids…. The owner, Brenda Stamand, did not care about the daycare or about the children who attended. She came around once in a blue, complaining about insignificant things, didn’t know the children’s names or when they started or for how long. Didn’t keep up with bringing in supplies for staff to efficiently run the daycare, didn’t keep up with food for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Staff had to leave work to run to closet convenience store to pick up milk. Director was left to us delivering services to have groceries delivered to daycare so children could eat. Many appliances were break down and remained broken for months at a time. Outside playground equipment would break more often than not, equipment and furniture were not safely secured to prevent injury to children. Hired and kept around questionable staff, despite countless complaints from other staff members. Stay away from Learn and Grow as well as Angel Bears , both locations being in Lewiston.
This daycare is absolutely the worst daycare! Closes every snow storm, takes Ada vantage of an symptom of covid, a runny nose your kids out for two days than has to test to come back, your not allowed with your children inside the center. You’re at the door an that’s it. On beautiful days outside the kids are always inside. Unprofessional at best
My son attended this child care for about 8 months. When we did our tour I was a little skeptical only do to the director being quite dry and not as bubbly towards my four year old as I would of thought a childcare provider would be. The owner was very rarely on site. Due to lack of childcare in our area we started and again the director/ preschool teacher! was not very friendly, barely acknowledged us on our first day. It took several weeks for her to even start saying good morning to my son. Like I said he attended for 8 months and not ONE other staff said one word to us or my son for that matter during drop off. Not really the type of personality I would expect for someone that works with children. Often days he didn’t want to go ???? but would be okay at pick up time with not many complaints from him. They did supply food which was helpful. During the time my son went there the childcare closed several days. Of course first for COVID, which is understandable. Literally from October through March they closed 10 times that were not Covid related and another week or so that were COVID related. And then add there scheduled days off… of course all these days are to be paid in your tuition regardless. This is not feasible for working parents. Lastly their tuition is quite pricey for our area $267 for a preschool child. Other local daycares are charging around $175. So in the end I would not recommend this childcare to anyone that needs to work and wants to feel welcomed.
