I am not a teacher at this facility. However, I am a Licensed Health Allied professional with additional credentials, such as a director in the Education industry. I had the opportunity to observe a client at this facility for four months. Unfortunately, within the last four months, I have observed what the ELC has outlined as warning signs of poor care and education.
Regarding inadequate supervision: Program: continuous staff turnover. Health and safety warning signs. Poor sanitation practices relating to diapering.

Lack of Professionalism: Lack of time management skills: Lack of communication: Lack of Integrity, and Lack of leadership:
The Director needs to include all of the above. Arguing in front of coworkers and children should never be allowed. I have witnessed firsthand the Director's aggressiveness towards an ABA therapist in front of coworkers and students. This behavior demonstrates no self-control. Demonstrating no safety and healthy precautions as she walks around the facility barefoot. I have witnessed the need for more organization and listening skills the Director has shown towards staff members when conveying their concerns about a lack of stimulating activities, having difficulties controlling students in the classroom, and their need for classroom training. The Director needs to implement instructional curricula in coordination with teachers to teach students. There are days the staff is understaffed, and the Director comes to the center at different times, pops her head in the classroom occasionally, and says, "If you need anything, I will be in the office." And most of the time, she is off the premises when the staff needs her assistance. This is different from the role of a director responsible for the preschool's daily operations. Yet, she is still employed.
Staff members argue with one another in front of students, coworkers, and other professionals. A teacher has made negative gestures and verbal comments that would be considered unethical comments towards children they do not want in their classrooms because of a child's behavior.

Ineffective Classroom management/understaffing:
There are more children than there are classroom teachers. This facility has five classroom teachers with children ages 1-5. Teachers are often not in compliance with the teacher/child ratio. When a daycare center is understaffed, children become injured because teachers cannot keep up with inappropriate behaviors promptly and visually. Due to understaffed and lack of awareness, children climb and jump off toy shelves. Within four months, I have witnessed parents withdraw their children due to a lack of classroom management and too many classroom incident reports.
Conflict of Interests: Conflict of interest is occurring, which can compromise judgment and actions in the workplace. A staff member is allowed to have her grandchildren in her classroom. Bullying, hitting, and scratching other people's children is occurring with little to no consequences. The staff member will not post-correct her grandchildren. Instead, she reprimands the crying child saying, "Either stop that crying or open your mouth to tell her to stop." This staff member has often taken toys from other children and given them to her grandchildren. When or if her grandchildren are in another classroom, the staff member will leave her assigned classroom and enter another teacher's classroom to check on her grandchildren. And numerous occasions, there have been many verbal altercations with other staff members in front of children over her grandchildren. This behavior demonstrates a lack of professionalism, leaving other parents' children unattended and a safety risk. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS in the classrooms at this facility. These events underscore the concerning prevalence of poor care and education and leadership.

Treehouse Preschool Academy is...

Treehouse Preschool Academy was opened in August 2008 out of a desire to provide quality, affordable childcare that focused on meeting each child's individual and unique needs.

In the years since our doors opened, we have seen amazing growth and have been blessed to serve our community and its smallest members: our preschoolers.

We are a faith-based preschool that focuses on teaching children about the love of God through our actions, not just Bible stories. All beliefs are welcomed here.
