Reviews
I recently had a very disappointing experience with the daycare services at Spellman Prep School. As a parent of an autistic child, I made sure to communicate this to the daycare instructor before enrolling my child. Unfortunately, the instructor's ability to handle an autistic child fell short of my expectations.
On the day I dropped my child off at 6:00AM, I received a call from the daycare at 7:40AM, which was just over an hour after I had left. The reason for the call was shocking. I was informed that I needed to pick up my child immediately because the teacher claimed to have a headache and had taken an Advil due to my three-year-old's crying. This left me in a difficult situation since I was already at work and had to rush across town to retrieve my child.
To add to the frustration, I received a threatening text message from the daycare, stating that if I didn't arrive within 30 minutes, they would call the Department of Children and Families (DCF) on me. This was an unnecessarily harsh and distressing approach, especially considering the circumstances.
Additionally, when I arrived to pick up my three-year-old, the state of the daycare was highly concerning. The facility was in disarray, with toys scattered all over the floor and no apparent organization or supervision. I was taken aback to find over 20 children running around without proper supervision or guidance.
To make matters worse, I discovered that several children were left unsupervised in the bathroom, which is an alarming safety risk. It is absolutely unacceptable for a daycare to neglect the basic responsibility of ensuring children's safety, especially in areas as critical as bathrooms.
This lack of order, supervision, and safety measures further solidifies my negative impression of Spellman Prep School Daycare. It is clear that they do not prioritize the well-being and proper care of the children entrusted to them.
I strongly urge parents to take my experience into account when considering daycare options for their children. A well-managed and safe environment is of utmost importance, and unfortunately, Spellman Prep School Daycare fails to meet these basic requirements.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Spellman Prep School Daycare to other parents, especially those with children on the autism spectrum. It is vital to prioritize your child's well-being and seek a daycare that can adequately cater to their unique needs.
