Sherry Christner’s daycare is an amazing place to take your children. You can always trust that they will be taken care of, fed and their minds worked. The school age children have such a sweet place to learn and grow, the teacher for such area is an amazing and a loving woman. The non school age children still have a learning environment to thrive in for their age range, and have more than enough toys to work their brains. The children get along amazing and love playing together and working as teams. All the daycare workers as well as Sherry herself are great childcare providers and love being around children. ???? 100% would recommend!

She shared with me that Staff #1 had stumbled over the tag system and pronouncing some of the names. We further found out that Staff #1 did have some reading concerns and we quickly addressed that situation. We decided to do some name drills with her. When I arrived, it was nap time so I decided to take that opportunity to work on the situation. For example I would say Staff #1 send me child (insert child name). ok who did you send me? I had staff #1 repeat the name to me. We did this after nap as well. We did this as they played (we did Simon says game with the kids "Simon says child (insert child's name) jump to times ect). This proved to be super beneficial as staff #1 by the end of the day had the whole class names in order. |

The smoke detector was operable at the time of the unannounced inspection as indicated when the inspectors tested them and all of the units including the one making an intermittent chirping still performed as manufactured to do. The Owner was at Lowe's getting new batteries when she remembered she had some batteries at her other facility, she was handling the situation already because the chirp was noted on morning safety checks. The staff T.B. Was told "We will check with the supervisor would have to be questioned regarding if this was citable since it was operating as it was manufactured to do. As discussed the chirping is part of the safety of the device itself to replace the battery the intermittent chirp is the first round of notice the device has when the chirping is constant then the matter is more critical according to the manufacturer. There are several smoke detectors in the space when the space is only required to have one on every level, I have 7 on one level, further according to the regulations I would have 48 hours for the repair and the repair was done before the close of business that same day if the unannounced inspection. |

I would like it noted that this was a previous corrective measure that was approved to separate the two spaces in October of 2023. The space used and known as the "preschool room" and formally "large motor/run-around room"needed to have a barrier in place to separate the two spaces from my licensed areas. The Large Motor area was removed from my licensing, because I was able to use the front porch area for outside play. I was instructed to separate the two spaces and to use the portion in front of the bathroom as a hallway. I was told to make a barrier between the two spaces. I submitted via text message the new temporary wall (pallet wall). There was never any instruction or indication that this was not acceptable. The fire exit was not blocked according to the fire department, because the wall was not a full length wall and not secured to be semi or fully permanent. Per the Fire Department who inspects for business Code Enforcement, the then temporary wall was satisfactory, however, they were preferring a way to get through if possible. On 3/27/24, the Licensing Rep also asked for there to be a means of aggress even though it was approved prior. They felt it would be a better practice for there to be a space that children could walk through in the event of a fire. The temporary correction was for the preschool room not to be used until the permanent fix, securing the pallet wall to the main wall and floor and putting a means to walk through the two spaces, was constructed. Permanent correction was done by securing the pallet wall to the main wall of the old large motor room, securing the pallet wall to the floor, and adding a means of aggress between the two space. (a door which can be open from either side if necessary to get through the two spaces). By doing this it was giving each space a 3rd means of aggress. Photos were sent to the licensing rep on 4/19/24 confirmed by physical inspection that this indeed was an approved correction for compliance. |
