I have used this provider for more than 6 months
If I could, I’d give this shitty place a -infinite review. Do not waste your money on a stupid Summer program that doesn’t do anything for your child’s benefit. Let me tell you my story : Hi, I’m *****. (I censored my name for privacy reasons) I’m a 15 year old that went through the “during-school” and “in-person” Ming Yuan Programs. I’m going again this summer because of my Asian parents (both speak Mandarin). 1) Teachers dont care. They’re on the board all day telling you this pinyin and being repeative. Why? They get paid by the hour, not by how well they teach, they have absolute no experience and expect everyone to know the language. — They teach their classes IN Mandarin which is bad luck if you don’t already SPEAK the language (extremely difficult for new learners) : This didn’t affect me because I spoke Manadarin at home, i joined to learned how to write. 2) Homework (And Biases). They assign a S*** LOAD of homework and get triggered by the simplest mistakes. I don’t understand why they care so much. At first, I may sound like I’m in the wrong but I DO LOOK VERY WHITE. Why does this matter? They’re extremely bias and pick favorites. 3) Staff & ANNOYING Assigned Counselors. Another story. : When I was 12-Ish, i cant remember but I think it was my first time there, it was fun. Well, when we DIDN’T have Mandarin. We would have 2 classes everyday, each for 3 hours. I didn’t mind, until we had Mandarin. We wait in the cafeteria for the teachers to get there and they assign counselors. This 16-ish year old (in which I thought was in my class cause he didn’t look like he could be staff with his baby cheeks) asked loudly “WHERES YOUR COUNSELOR?!”, so I kept the same Energy responding “WE DONT HAVE ONE.” in which he got aggravated and told me he’d get the principal, like what? I know it’s not a big deal now but I still hold grudges (like throwing a Boulder into his face) 4) Overall, no. Just dont waste your money. Ming Yuan isn’t worth any subjects they offer : Another story : I’m not the best crafter nor artist but I don’t care, both teachers were rude and didn’t help. All they did. Show a sculpture / painting, chillax on their phone until the 3 hours pass by. That’s it. smh.
