I want to provide this review so other parents in a situation like mine can find a better suited place for their child. I am a Father to a happy little 4 year old girl. This is her second year at Scargo. I have a joint custody arrangement with my daughters Mother. Sending your child to preschool should be a great experience right? I unfortunately cannot say that for Scargo. My child's teachers and the director of the school refuse to transmit important information to me such as progress reports, picture day information and covid exposure/shutdown notices. To further my negative experience it so happens that my daughters name was changed to a hyphenated name that includes mine against her Mother's wishes, shouldn't matter the wishes to the school though right? Just what my daughters name legally is. To be clear this name change was ordered by the judge to lessen the parental alienation my daughter is subjected to. Anyways, this school will not use my daughters legal last name at the school because it is not the wish of both parents. To further, at the beginning of the year for 3 weeks my daughter and all the children in her class practiced learning to trace their first AND last names, since I have complaint to the director and asked that my daughter write her full legal name it is the directors choice to remove learning to trace last names from ALL of the students in my daughters class over the sole opinion of my daughters Mother. Not only does my daughter lose here but all of the students in her class do as well. I find their morals and principles unjustified and incorrigible. If you are in a joint custody situation I urge you to find a better fit for your family so you and your child don't miss out as mine is. Additionally, even in a regular mom dad household your child will lose out in an instance like this over the incorrect and illegal opinion of one parent.
