I have used this provider for more than 6 months

We have sent our daughter (Down Syndrome, limited verbal, ADHD) to Zach's Place about once a week (more during summer) for the last eight years. I have never been concerned for her safety, but the quality of programming is questionable. Most of the Directors and caregiving staff are caring human beings who have a heart for this work. However, the work environment is generally not good because upper management is terrible. There were six different Directors in eight years. The last director has been there just six months and she just left and took many staff with her. This was the last straw for us and we will no longer be using ZP for respite care. I would have NEVER chosen them for full time day care for my child. I firmly believe the only reason they can still operate is because there are no other childcares/preschools that will take children with disabilities. Families have no choice.

About the Provider

Zach's place was established to provide families in the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas a place for respite care for their children with disabilities ages 2 to 21. Originally it was designed for children with developmental disabilities but it is open to others as well. We offer structured and free play and also teach life skills and socialization skills. We provide respite (temporary time apart for parent/caregiver and child) in a home-like environment and also have children daily after school and on school breaks. We aim to provide very flexible scheduling and individualized support so as to serve as many families as we can, with most families currently using our services after school and any time on weekends. Zach’s Place operates on a sliding fee scale and will support you in accessing community funding sources. Serving you and your child comes first and we want to do everything possible to make it happen!
