I am an employee

time to share some light on what goes on behind the scene at the daycare shall we ? they do not pay their employees most of our checks were late. deja the owner wasn’t communicating until day of checks being late. I have since left & have been the only one left out of being paid & will be a week late. They treat their employees like crap we weren’t allowed to take sick days because so understaffed one teacher would be with 8 kids. deja took away holiday pay without letting us know until it already happened. she only gave us 3 sick days out of the whole year. Favoritism was a big thing there lots of stuff would be kept hidden from the employees that we had rights to know about. The director miss tina was caught several times talking bad about the employees & parents. She knew nothing about any of the kids unless we told her which as a director you should know all about the kids. We would ask for help & were denied because “ it was easy” we asked multiple times for help & more staff as only 2 teachers were running everything. they have yet to keep workers since the last set of teachers left. Covid was not a big thing either the owner went up to the daycare on a Saturday with covid nothing was disinfected before opening that monday. There were multiple covid exposures where they wanted us to come back to work & no reports made to parents every time. Also my co teacher ms marissa was injured & they made me train a new teacher & run the show working a 11 hour shift that was my last day there. They also wanted ms marissa to come in on crutches to watch 8 children. they really did not care about their employees mental or physical health. when it came to mental health there were multiple occasions where both of us were so stressed out and not okay that we would have mental breakdowns throughout the day. Hence, why we would ask for help constantly. But deja didn’t want to put another teacher on payroll. When we finally did get some help, it lasted a little over a week and there was no effort to replace that help. They tried to guilt trip ms marissa into coming back for the kids they constantly called & texted her as she said multiple times she could not come back with how bad the business was being run. Also with the kids we had a child who has several behavior problems issues but miss tina wouldnt help or knew how to handle it even when we’d ask for help even when it got physical she never sent the child home to cool off. but the week we left they kicked the child out of the daycare because she didn’t know how to handle him. so if she or the teachers can’t handle your kids their solution is to either dump all the stress on teachers or simply kick the child out. Also did y’all know miss tina has a criminal background working with your kids as said on a file she shouldn’t be around kids? And god forbid you disagree with either the owner deja or miss tina they attempt to fire you. on multiple occasions we were almost fired because we were sick or had a different opinion. back to the sick days if we were genuinely sick or injured we needed a doctors note to come back otherwise we would get written up or fired which for most people you don’t have insurance to go to the doctors just for a note.
