Children's Academy of Marion is the absolute best child care facility in the region. Having toured many of them and working at a local school where many of my peers have used other places, I am confident in my assessment of the facility and personnel. Both of my children have had phenomenal experiences starting as early as a year and a half. The teachers and their helpers are the most pleasant and caring people I have had the pleasure to know. They get to know your children and you and go out of their way to partner with you to help raise and educated your kid. Nothing they do is a show, you can show up any moment of any day and find the kids well-supervised and happy. Despite their being 4-5 full classes with 20+ teachers/aids/helpers in the building, every person in the building knew my kid's name after a week.
I will say that the story submitted by 'concerned parent' is upsetting and I am not writing to discredit their feeling; however I will say that outside the one story, I have heard nothing but amazing things from the many many parents who have their kids at the Children's Academy.
The Children's Academy abused my daughter in Fall, 2012, Ms. Sarah Taylor pushed her in bathroom and she was highly offended and upset for several months. Since almost all the teachers or owners are friends they defend one another. Ashley Nye the director called my daughter a liar who was 2 at the time of incident. Ms. Sarah admitted to me director she pushed Zara in the bathroom because she flung a bathroom stall door open and hit boy in head with door and he required ice pack. No report was ever reported to the STATE. Also, My daughter left the play yard with four other children behind her and were near parking lot and no teacher knew they escaped. In addition, several other issues including not reporting illnesses which are contagious and singling my daughter out due to her race and ethnicity is inappropriate. Melissa Mansfield is the assistant director and sisters with the director and asked for meeting with owners and she refused to tell me names until I persisted and they were unprofessional and did not take claims seriously.
