Little Sprouts Learning Center

I enrolled my children at this daycare due to the lack of child care options in the small town. At first, things seemed normal. After a few months I began noticing employees and director always on their cell phones when I would do off and pick up my children, staff always sitting in chairs and not getting down on children's level to interact. Almost daily, the school age teacher could be heard yelling at the children from the front door. I was shocked at how she would speak to the kids. My child occasionally was in that room and my child told me that this teacher would often yell at them to be quiet because she couldn't hear her boyfriend on the phone. I know I walked in a couple of times in which she was taking on the cellphone and she would quickly get off the phone. The other rooms seemed tense, unfriendly and somewhat burdened by the kids. All kids would be put together in the mornings and afternoons and I was shocked to see infants laying on the floor while school age and toddler age would be playing unguarded around them. This center doesn't appear to actually follow many policies and procedures that the state has in place. I feel like the director doesn't want to discipline her friends that are her employees so the kids suffer. I will not take my child there again. It is not safe and the staff honestly didn't seem to care. Their phones are more important than the safety of the kids and their love life takes precedence over their ability to correctly run a classroom. The board that is entrusted to hire capable individuals to successfully and safely fun this center is failing. I am not the only parent who has had issues and concerns. Concerns have been given to director with no resolve or parents just look the other way because they have no other care option. The board needs to be ensuring this facility is running safely and correctly by auditing randomly, checking cameras and making staff follow state regulations. Our children deserve to be somewhere they are safe and happy.
