I have used this provider for less than 6 months

My experience with Children’s Land daycare in Lincolnshire had been a very unpleasant one. I was forced to deal with rudeness and unprofessionalism in a place where one should expect only kindness and understanding.

Our twins turned 2 at the end of June and we were looking to begin daycare. Children’s Land was highly recommended by friends and my husband and I decided that it would be a great place for our twins. The plan was to begin attending part time and move to full time in a month or so based on how well they had adjusted.

The girl twin adjusted very quickly. She didn’t cry and was socializing well with other kids, eating and sleeping, etc. The boy twin was a complete opposite, however. He cried and whined all the time and did not want to be there. We were told that we had 3 days for him to adjust. On the day before last of the “trial period” the administrator (Irina Armstrong) told us that if our boy twin was not better by the end of the following day, he would be dismissed from the daycare completely. He was not better the following day and I received a phone call from Irina asking me to pick up my son. When I came and I told Irina that we were going to try another daycare, she gave me a smirk and a sarcastic “Good Luck!”

Children’s Land had never offered any suggestions as to how to make the transition from home to a daycare easier for my son seeing that he was having a hard time. They didn’t make any attempts to ease the transition for him. When I was present in the center I never saw the staff attempt to engage him in play or to console him in any way. All I heard from the administrator was the fact that they had to care for 16 other children and it was too difficult for them to look after my boy who needed the extra attention. Children’s Land had failed my expectations miserably.

The very next day we visited another daycare in the area called Blooming Minds Academy located in Wheeling. My expectations were low, however, I was very pleasantly surprised to see both of my kids like it. My son cried very little then stopped and began playing with other kids as well as bonding with the teacher and the administrator whose name is Tanya. After 2 hours at this daycare, the staff was able to tell me what my son liked and what helped to console him when needed.
