I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I am giving this center a 1 star only because I cannot give it a 0. The staff that is in the front office lack the basic customer service skills required for a childcare facility. I explained on multiple occasions and before my child started that my child had never attended daycare and I was very nervous about placing him in a childcare facility. I did not tell them that before I moved to this town I worked for DHR and I understand how licensing goes, and I know minimum standards like the back of my hand. But I should not have to discuss my experince or argue my point to a daycare that is suppose to be providing a paid service .... the service of taking care of children. My child was fine for 3 days and it was told to me that he was doing really well. Until the 4th day I got a call stating that he was screaming, he was not sick or hurt, and long story short, that the teacher has six other children in the classroom and that she cant hold him all day. I explained that I did not expect him to be held all day, but that he is new to daycare. It frustrates me that they did not attempt to provide any customer service what so ever... being that I pay and they dont have a problem swiping my bank card. I dont mind paying for service, especially if they claim to be the best, I will pay whatever price... but as a customer and parent I am disgusted with how the situation was handled by the director and by whomever I spoke to on the phone. If you claim to have 20 years of experience then you have heard all types of babies cries and screams... The way I took it was that they just didnt want to take the time with my child. I didn't even express the fact that when I picked him up Monday-Thursday each day there was a different teacher each day in the afternoon, and I came at different times earlier each time and every afternoon it was a different teacher. And I never picked him up after 5:30pm. So I tried, but I never met his teacher. I never got a child progress note, or a new parent handbook about the daycare. If I had gotten a handbook before I paid... I probably would not have signed him up because I would have had a clear understanding about their policy of: if my child is screaming, due to him never being at daycare before, then the director will ask me to come pick him up.... then I would have looked for another daycare. They gave me the confidence to think that they understood and could handle a child that has never been to daycare. My short experience with them prooved that was a lie. Again, maybe some customer service training is due for the front office staff or whoever answers the phone. Because you can work at a daycare for 20 to 40 years, that does not make you a good person or good with children... sometimes the worst workers fly under the radar. But as I bring this long complaint to a close. I hope you guys do stay open once you get the training that you need. Becaue a passed background check and clean drug screen should not be all that you need to work with children. You should have a passion for it and you should love what you do, or find another career.
