My 3 boys have all been going to the Happy Elephant since they were 12 weeks old. I love that they have consistent teachers/care givers who know them and their unique needs and preferences. It’s comforting to know that my boys feel safe and have fun! The center is flexible with working parents and changing schedules. We love the Happy Elephant!
My son attended happy elegant for 3 months and it wasn’t a good experience. Everyday at drop off he cried and it never got better. They wouldn’t even let him bring his special toy to calm him at least for nap times to make him feel safe. They didn’t allow sun screen so when it was very hot he would be burnt at the end of the day. Many times when I would drop off there would be an abundant number of toddlers and only 2 teachers. As I know the teacher to child ratio for toddlers is 4 children to one teacher and this was an ungoing occurrence. When I asked the director they said “we lost an employee and are looking for another one.” It was not a good excuse to leave the teachers out of ratio. The staff had a great turn over as well. I was not pleased and wish I could’ve pulled my son out sooner. Center needs new mangement and staff who have the drive to work with children.

Happy Elephant Child Care. Inc, has provided child care for families since 1972. Our five locations across Michigan are staffed by experienced and caring professionals. Happy Elephant centers operate from Monday through Friday and open as early as 5:30 AM and close at 6:00 PM. We welcome you to tour our facilities at any time. Give Them a Head Start
Preschool helps children develop critical skills: how to resolve conflicts, how to share, and how to negotiate. These skills that we use every day are developed in early childhood. A preschool environment helps little ones learn to get along well with others and give them a head start.
A Place to Grow
The play and activity experience is tailored to the age and interests of the child. Infant care is planned to keep important routines. Toddlers participate in activities that encourage development. Larger outdoor play areas, daily activities, and regular lesson times help with school readiness.
