I live off of Retton road and today while i was heading to pick my children up from Herbert Mills a Sunshyne Van came zooming through and almost crashed while trying to get past someone who was slowing down to pull into their drive through. the driver decided to drive the same way the person was turning into their drive through then continued to speed down Retton to Herbert Mills. There are multiple kids walking on that road, including my children. I was very displeased to see this and happy the driver turning into their driveway seen the daycare vehicle before it was too late.
My 3 Grand kids attended this daycare for 2 years. Within the 2 years, there was constant situations in question with the owner. His main concern in my experience was his income, not the care of the children. My grand kids were in constant fights at the facility. I know kids have disagreements, but a full blown fights repeatedly is unacceptable. Last school year he repeatedly threatened to not transport them to and from school. On certain days, due to staffing issues, he would not pick them up from school. My thought is once you have agreed to transportation with the parents for the school year, that should not be a conversation and staffing issues are not the parents problem. When you send your kids to daycare, you should not have to wonder what has happened to them throughout the day. In this case it was an ongoing situation which has left my grand kids traumatized and defensive. I don't want my grand kids to feel they are walking into a war zone daily. And they staff is suspect. They never know or see anything so there was never an incident report.
