I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I waited 3 years on the waitlist and totally disappointed. The lady Denise was very rude and condescending. I tried to get past her behavior in hopes the classroom teachers was not like this. Please trust your gut. This place not what you think it is.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. Worst daycare in Columbus. Some of the teachers are polite to your face but the Director (D. Williams) is psychotic. She is unprofessional, has terrible customer service skills, and zero communication skills. Unfortunately, I've had all 4 of my children enrolled here for about a year and I can count on 1 hand, the amount of times I've had a semi-courteous exchange with this woman. She acts like she hates her job, she always looks tired, and she is rude/unprofessional 90% of the time. Her establishment must be understaffed because she always calls us to pick up our kids for nonsense (a runny nose or a mild cough). The kids never have a fever or any other symptom but she insists we pick them up. So we do and the children always seem fine. As a precaution, we take them to the doctor the next day and get the same diagnosis. Nothing wrong/no illness/waste of time and resources. Huge inconvenience to take off work and make other care arrangements. She will call on Monday, expect them to stay home for 24-72 hours and expect you to pay full tuition for a service she obviously isn't providing. If my kids are home, "sick"; why should I have to pay full price? Here it is again, the beginning of the week and she has called with some random reason as to why I need to pick up one of my children. Upon further discussion, I realized she just didn't have enough staff to sit with my child; who just didn't want to go outside and play. When I explained that my child was likely tired from the prior days Beach trip; Williams told me I had to come get her and let her lay down at home. What!? So you're telling me you have no where in your facility that my child can take a nap? I'm not paying you so I can turn around and do your job. What sense does that make? I told her that this was obviously a classroom management and staff:child ratio issue and she lost her mind over the phone. In typical fashion, she was rude, combative, and disrespectful (mind you, I'm very pregnant right now and could honestly live without any unnecessary stress). Who argues with a pregnant woman? When my children's father arrived at the daycare to pick up our kids, she took her frustrations with me, out on my family. She shoved the kids out the front door, put all of their belongings in a trash bag, and threw them and their belongings out the door. She told my children's father that their care was terminated because of the discussion she had with me. She said, in front of the children, "they all have to go!" How can you be in the child care industry and conduct yourself in such a cruel manner in front of children (2, 4 year olds, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old)? She should have handled her issue with me, not my family. My children did not deserve that. Who knows what else is done or said behind closed doors? My children are confused now of course and asking me why they have to start at a new school tomorrow. The director here is a pathetic excuse for a human being. I'm an educator myself and I'd never speak to or treat a parent or child the way we were treated today. I have plenty more I could say about this place and the director; none of it good. If you are considering this place, please save yourself the time and money. It's not worth either. Run in the opposite direction! Worst child care experience of my entire life!

Owner response : In response to a recent review by Samantha. Reviews under 5 stars are often used to improve an organization in one or more areas. This review however will not change the trajectory of our progress because of the validity of its content. We are a medium sized child care center located in North East Columbus. We have been in business for over 18 years. We have five employees who have worked at our facility for over 15 years and 4 employees who have been with us for over five years. This is a low turnover rate for this industry. Our parents constantly comment on the cleanliness of our facility, the stability of our providers, and the caring relationships they have with our staff. We do not advertise, but constantly have a waiting list due to satisfied parents' referrals. Generations do not provide one on one care for any child who parent wishes to remain inside the facility during outside play time. Samantha mentioned getting frequent calls about medical concerns. Having four children at one facility will give you the potential to be called more often than the average parent. Her children were here during COVID protocols that required a child that was exposed to COVID be quarantined for a specified period of time. In addition, there are state guidelines we have to follow to protect the health and safety of all children at our facility. Generations will always put the children's health and welfare first rather than the convenience of the parent. We will continue to thrive on the character and quality of the leadership and care delivered. Gerald J. Williams, CEO BSN, MSM, LSSGB

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I thought this was a wonderful center at first...after a year I learned a few days ago how much they don't tell you. Trust me as a parent some of it you would want to know. Poor communication...the director feels parents don't need to know if your child was involved in an act where her private areas where shown.
