I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Reviewed by Frank, a content father with fond memories of the way his son was taught and treated at Sweet Angels Academy (located at 3265 N.W. 14th Terrace Miami, Florida 33125, phone 305-634-3602, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The teaching or instruction takes place both in English and Spanish or whatever language of the two the parents prefer).

What I remember most vividly was that Maria Castellon the Owner/Director and Staff were down to earth (no pretense, bombast or snobbery just simplicity), always compassionate, friendly and helpful, and willing to work with any parent on specific needs or education for their children. My son was no “sweet angel” he was a robust and sometimes rambunctious male, a young “noble savage” at heart, yet she always showed compassion and empathy for him even in his wilder moments. Director Castellon and her teaching Staff never tried to indoctrinate him with that old Prussian goose step demanding conformity, that which has been proven to cripple creativity, and long run individual critical thinking skills, she never tried to crush his individualism.

This is the best Childcare Center in Miami, it has ample space, yet has a simple down to earth family atmosphere, it is very clean, cleanliness and hygiene are emphasized and very noticeable, and it is in a safe neighborhood. I vividly recall the excellent home cooked meals that my son grew accustomed to quickly, no junk food like in other daycare centers, with more than reasonable and competitive tuition payments, and quick and easy pick up of children who are always ready to be retrieved by their parents after work since the Staff is so attentive to their individual needs. Although emphasis is given to Security, making sure only the authorized parent retrieves his child and no one else, unless previous authorization had been made for another family member to do it. Sweet Angel’s Academy is in a clean, safe neighborhood not far from a local Miami Police station that I always liked, and when I was there I remember seeing many children of police officers, and police cars patrolling the area which again was good news to me since it prevented criminals from loitering in the area. Bottom line, it did not allow for delinquency to prevail or takeover in the neighborhood, that was a major benefit that went with having my son attend there.

Maria Castellon is an excellent Director/owner/businesswoman, she epitomizes professionalism and a gung-ho can do enthusiasm, and she demands that all her Teachers/Staff be continually trained and certified in her endeavor to be the best in her profession. She believes in higher education, as well as specific continual early childhood education training for her and her Staff to suit the needs of all the children. She reminds me of the educator and physician Maria Montessori who improved child education with the model of human development and the famous “Montessori method” still used today in some private and even public schools around the world which emphasizes independence, and a right or liberty to choose. Kudos to a true professional, Maria Castellon, a great teacher (I am proud she is Cuban-American), and I see the diversity of Miami and the U.S. in her school and style without any pretense, snobbery, just the beauty of simplicity.
