My family experience was different over the past 5 months. Ms. Lorry in the infant room is incredible & I can’t say enough good things about her & her commitment children in her care. That being said, in our experience she is the best asset along with a newer bright facility.
My daughter started Sept 8, ’14 at nearly 4 months old. Until some turnover in the infant rooms everything was stellar. Late Oct began decline. My daughter came home frequently with fecal matter on her behind. I asked to be shown how a diaper was changed by a teacher that was rated by Youngster & she used 3 wipes, 1 quick down middle, 1 down sides, & closed her new diaper in front of me with fecal matter on her behind with the 3rd wipe to use for cleaning hands. I brought the issue to the administrator & the issue was addressed.
NOV: I peaked in at the webcam to see my daughter placed on the floor in front of a teacher in a rocking chair with another infant being fed in her arms while my daughter was being fed with a foot resting on her chest and bottle held up with the foot. This issue was raised & addressed.
JAN: My daughter was dropped off at 7:45 and not moved or touched by support staff until 10:30am only to be placed in her crib to cry herself to sleep. I saw on the webcam she was where I left her with same toys. The daily sheet when I picked her up stated that she’d been napping from 9:55am-12:20pm. She missed a bottle and morning solids for feeding. She received her first feeding when her regular teacher arrived soon after noon. The daily sheet did not match what I saw and my concerns were met with knee-jerk defense of staff and condescension. I’d been marked a complainer. I was met with gossip among support staff when dropping & picking up after this incident. Trust is not possible when what you see does not match what they say happened.
I picked her up last Fri & she almost always needed a diaper change before leaving. I went to change her diaper & saw Desitin globbed in her diaper + in her genitals. Fecal matter underneath the Desitin caused burns & bleeding. I nursed my 8 month old’s bottom an entire weekend & scabs were still apparent. I raised the issue to administrator & was asked if we were still a good fit for the center. There is far more for me to share but not enough characters fit for the review.
No one is a good fit at this center if you watch what is going on & raise any concerns, or expect basic needs to be met for the $$$ you pay. Your infant will receive better care at doggie daycare.
