Woodlands Montessori School North

I feel it's necessary to defend my opinion and HORRIBLE experiences with Woodlands.  There are many inaccurate statements and accusations made by the other reviewer.  Make's me wonder if it's either the Director herself or one of her employees?  We are an organic low to no sugar family...and no I don't feed my child chips, sugar cereals, cookie or cakes!  The issue with photography had little to do with the cost, and all to do with the repercussions and anger directed at us when we refused to sign a release for the Photographer to use our son's photo's in their promo's!  I have a very good understanding of education, have a MFA and have been heavily involved in Childhood education for almost 20 years!  In addition, my husband is both a Nurse and a Nutritionist!  For you or anyone to attack us personally is just obnoxious!  My child went directly from Woodlands, into an accredited Montessorial program, so for the other party to assume it was a financial issue is absurd!  My child's skills and knowledge base have increased dramatically since I enrolled him in his new accredited program.  Our new school had no problem giving us complete (first and last names) and accreditations of the entire teacher's in the school.  My child's teacher has a Master's degree in Child Development!  Be sure to ask the Director at Woodlands about any incidences with her teacher's in the past?  Do any of them have felony convictions?  The information is out there...just more difficult to find without a last name.  Do you really want to send your child to a school, where the director refuses to provide you with full names and accreditations?  This forum is for reviewing the schools, not for throwing false accusations about other people's experiences and views!  Ask, ask and ask questions.  Talk to your neighbors, co-workers, friends....I was surprised how many people have had issues with this school and specifically with this director???  You'll be surprised!

I am always appalled at parents who write comments such as the ones that are posted on this site.  Our child has been at Woodlands for the past 3 years and she will be remaining for kindergarten and 1st grade.  Your issues make me laugh.  I hope you took notice that some parents bring in treats for the children, as I do, and it consist of kix, cheerios and fruit.  It makes me wonder if you never feed your child cookies, cake or pie.  The school photos are priced by package.  It is my prerogative to purchase the package of my choice.  Gee, I bet you haven't been to a public school yet.  They have book fairs the same as Woodlands.  That is the way items are obtained for the school to use for training our children.  I am in education so there isn't much you could say to change my mind on Woodland's.  Our daughter is getting the highest education possible.  I have never had a reason, in the 3 years, of having anyone's last name.  They are always at school, or they will have the teacher give me a call,   Defamation of character is very serious problem.   The education my child receives at Woodlands is far above most private schools and I am appalled to read such comments that have nothing to do with education.   GO WOODLANDS!

The Director refused to give me my child’s teacher's last names, saying that by law she doesn't have to!  I was also appalled to find that the snacks they were feeding him, we don't allow him to have (i.e. cheetos, cookies, captain crunch, fruit loops)!  She promotes her friends businesses through the school:  Fun Bus, Photographer and so forth.  Photography packages were over $100!  She became angry that I wouldn't sign a release to allow her to use our child’s image.  NIGHTMARE from the beginning!  Don't entrust these people with your children!  Always trying to get more money from you!  Beware the word “Montessori” is not copyrighted, and anyone can use it!
