My poor feedback is as to the management. A month ago, I toured SSA and was very impressed with the facility and with the male owner who gave me the tour. I was excited to be able to put my baby-to-be on the waiting list, and the owner told me that the wait was running to Aug-Sept 2016, which was exactly when I needed childcare to begin, so my search for childcare ended. He told me to follow up periodically, so this morning I called to touch base and see if they could nail down whether my baby could begin in August or September. I spoke with the other owner (it's a husband and wife team) and she told me it would be 2 years until my baby could begin. I expressed how frustrating that news is - it is very hard to get in to a daycare in a timely manner in Roswell, and seeing as I thought I had found a place I stopped searching a month ago and now I will have an ever more difficult time. My husband and I work full time and my maternity leave is only 3 months unpaid, so finding childcare to begin in August or September is make or break for our family.
Worse than their mishandling of the waiting list, when I expressed my frustration at having been misled about the waiting list and losing that time to find alternate childcare, the owner just hung up on me mid-sentence. Mind you, I did not use profanity, I did not call names. I was frustrated bit civil. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise - I'm not sure I want my baby in the care of people who have such disregard and ambivalence toward what is important to the families they are supposed to serve. My children - and the children of anyone I speak with in the Roswell area - will go elsewhere.
As a new father, Stepping Stone has made us very welcome and helped answer all the new parent questions. We looked at four other daycares before picking SSA. It seems very family base and nicer than other daycares in the area. One of the thing I love the most, it the 3-5 pictures we get a day from their app. Our child is always smiling no matter if he is playing, painting, singing, or learning. I cannot say enough good things about this daycare.
My initial gut reaction to SSA continues to hold true. This place is AWESOME!! My 2.25 year old daughter loves it here. She is happy to go to school everyday and she's learning and maturing at a rate that truly pleases my soul. As parents, we want the very best opportunity for our children. I feel we have and will continue to receive that here at SSA!!
