We had many school options for middle school raging from public to private. My child had great grades, tested gifted and had wonderful test scores on the CST's (600 math).
After a lot of research, we chose valley school in Van Nuys.
It is a true hidden gem in the valley.
My son is challenged academically. He is thriving. He loves going to school every day. He adores his teachers. They are all wonderful and caring. He is getting a top notch education.
The classes are small but not too small. The school is safe and nurturing.
It may not look "fancy" on the outside but on the inside the school offers what any other prestigious private school offers; A top notch education, wonderful teachers, a principal that is involved and caring (Mr. Haddad), a challenging curriculum, small class sizes, renovated gymnasium, pool, and a library that is undergoing renovation, and nice kids all at an affordable price.
It is geographically desirable, easy access from the freeway and against traffic in the morning. The graduates of valley get accepted to prestigious high schools afterward. I can't be more thrilled with our choice.
