About the Provider
The YWCA After School Program, licensed by the State of Texas, Department of Human Services, Division of Youth & Family Services, and on course to nationally accredit ALL YWCA After School sites, provides quality childcare for children in grades K-6 from the end of the school day until 6 p.m. in a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.
Children are taught from a unique curriculum utilized to ensure standardized after-school activities and programming throughout the region. YWCA employees follow standards provided by the Council on Accreditation at all sites. Studies show that participating in an After School program improves school attendance and engagement, reduces grade repetition and has a positive impact on children’s self-confidence and conflict management skills.
The program promotes positive parenting, enabling parents to focus on their careers and jobs with the knowledge that their children are well cared for and are constructively engaged.
