My child attended this program for a little over a year before I removed him. We were told on several occasions that my son had ADHD and I needed to contact LIU to come exam my son (the YWCA told me this needed to be done) I was also told I needed to seek a physiologist for my son (who mind you is 3 years old) This was very upsetting, you are not doctors most of you aren't even qualified to be teaching at this facility. It is extremely under staffed and they let it be known. They do not take the children outside, they keep them locked up inside even on nice days. I chose this facility/program because I know several people who used it in the past and they were very pleased. To my understanding the staff that used to work there are no longer there, and it shows ! This place has went downhill fast. Please do not send your children here, I will NEVER recommend or do business of any kind with the YWCA of Hanover PA. Oh and my son was examed as requested by the YWCA and nothing was found wrong with him. If they can't "mold" your child into a robot they force you into seeking outside help. DO NOT GO HERE !!!!
This used to be a wonderful establishment until recently. Lots of well qualified staff is gone and the new ones do not seem to have knowledge of dealing with children. The current director is bias and unfit for her position. If you question her ethics she is quick to retaliate. It's a wonder they haven't lost all of the longtime parents.
I would not recommend the YWCA for child care services. They have done things that would cause their facility to shut down if the parent would have complained. They do not care about the wellbeing of the children. The teachers or director are not qualified to deal with all types of children and they make it known. The push the kids they cannot deal with into other classrooms as a punishment. They have embarrassed a child I know of in so many ways. I understand how kids are, but if you are qualified to deal with kids you would know how to handle the situation. I have stopped supporting the YWCA due to these issues. Keep your kids away from this facility!
