About the Provider

The Yuba College CDC is dedicated to providing a quality childcare program for children, parents, students, and teachers. This includes the needs of the “whole child” (the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative self).

The center values each individual as both a learner and as a teacher. The center’s goal is to provide an environment that nurtures both the child and the adult. The search for competence, both for children and for adults who care for them, is a prime goal.

For the children at the center, developmentally appropriate activities (those that take into consideration both the age span of the group and the unique individual interest and abilities of the children in attendance) are the focus. These activities will include real materials and experiences (hands -on), small and large muscle activities, individual choices for independence, small groups of children, and creative and self-expressive activities. Social skills, thinking and reasoning skills, physical activity, health and nutrition, and support for feelings are also emphasized.
