At Roosevelt, there will be an emphasis on creativity, critical thinking and opportunities to share student work publicly. Students will become arts literate, able to self-reflect and able to critique the arts.
Students will develop self and global awareness by exploring local and world cultures through the arts.
Building community, making learning interesting/meaningful, teaching critical thinking, and teaching basic academic skills will be primary goals.
The teaching of dance, drama, music and the visual arts will be used to enhance the core curriculum.
Applicable uses of technology will also be explored.The mission of Roosevelt Elementary School is to help every child reach his/her full potential academically and in the arts by working collaboratively with families and the community. Roosevelt students will have the skills and character to be able to pursue meaningful options as adults in a global society.
